Need I say more?

I oughtta be a blogger.

Yeah right.
So anyway, my little WW group had a potluck at my place on Sunday.  Best darn food I've had at a party in a long time.  You know why?  Everything was fresh and homemade.  Some more decadent than others but what an array of flavors and colors - including the BBQ standard burnt hot dogs and burgers on the grill.

How did we do it?
1.  Smaller burgers, patties made from scratch.  90% lean beef, no cheese but mmm mmm good.
2.  Fat free hot dogs.  Afraid to read the label on what might be inside them, but hey, they taste yummy and have that burned-grill special flavor.  I make exceptions to my no-processed foods rule when I'm eating, ahem, a lot of food at a special occasion.
3.  Use buns selectively.  I had one hot dog w/ a bun, but then no bun on my burger and on my 2nd hot dog.  Didn't miss it a bit.
4.  Colored food.  No goopy store bought beige potato salad or white cupcakes w/ a mountain of frosting.  Instead, fresh fruit & veggies w/ humus for dipping, yummy salads made with all fresh ingredients (quinoa is an awesome substitute for pasta in summer salads).
5.  Home made sweets for dessert - I'll post the amazing brownie and eggless cookie recipes when I get them.  Miss K's chocolate chip cookie bites were not low cal but at that size you can eat a whole pile and it's still just the equivalent of one cookie!
6.  Yes, we had beer & wine too.  Michelob Ultra is perfect for a steamy summer afternoon and a nice light chilled pino grigio were perfect and way less calories than margaritas or other frozen (= sugar filled) drinks.

So, back to my blogging.  I've got to find an easy way to post recipes and links.  Help!

Getting Started

I've always said if I ever owned a racehorse, I would name it "Inaminut".  Doesn't look like I'm going down the racehorse-owner path, so the name for a blog seems almost as good.  If I ever get a follower.

"In a minute" seems to be a phrase I use approximately 20,000 times a day, and it makes me feel horribly guilty.  How many times can I tell my toddler to wait so I can finish writing an email, or finish loading the diswasher, or finish posting something cute / funny about her on The Facebook?

Since I'm just getting started that's all for now.  I read somewhere that if you can't achieve your goals, aim lower.  At this point in my life daily posts of more than a few sentences seem unlikely so my goal is just a daily post.
